Who the test is for

The page says the test is primarily aimed at people who have been learning Chinese for more than two academic years, at a pace of 2-3 lessons per week, and who have mastered around 3,000 commonly used words.

Sections, items and minutes

The test has three sections. The page gives the number of items and the minutes for each one in this table.

Test content Number of items Test duration (minutes)
Section 1: Listen and Repeat 3 8
Section 2: Read Aloud 1 2
Section 3: Answer the Questions 2 5

The table adds up to 15 minutes. The summary sentence gives 25 minutes for the whole examination, including 10 minutes of preparation time.

Score, pass mark and validity

The score sentence gives 100 points for a full score. A cumulative score of 60 or above qualifies as a passing mark. The sentence names one pass mark for the test and gives no separate mark for each section. HSK Speaking scores are valid for two years, counted from the test date.

Vocabulary

The page says that HSK Speaking (Advanced) focuses on assessing around 3000 of the most commonly used words. This article does not reproduce any word list. The page does not give the list in the text used here.
