HSK Exam Guide Can you take the HSK at home? What the official calendar does and does not list
The official 2026 calendar does not list a home test. Each of the 11 HSK 1-6 dates in its table is marked PBT and iBT at-center, and the table has no row for a home edition. The HSK page lists a notice about an online home edition in countries outside China, but this article does not give that notice's date, countries or conditions.
The 2026 HSK 1-6 dates
The table covers HSK 1-6 and the HSK Speaking Test. The first eight dates fall before 11 October 2026, so they are past dates of the 2026 calendar. The last three are still ahead.

The HSK 7-9 dates
The 2026 HSK 7-9 table lists two dates. Both are iBT at-center.
- 9 May (Sat): iBT at-center, registration deadline 25 April. This is a past date.
- 22 November (Sun): iBT at-center, registration deadline 8 November.
Neither row names a home edition.
The home edition notice
The HSK page lists a notice titled 'Notice on increasing the Online Chinese Test (Home Edition) in countries outside of China'. This article does not give the date of that notice, the countries it covers or its conditions. It also does not say whether a home edition is running. To find out, ask the test centre, or read the notice on the official Chinese Tests Service Website.
