HSK 6 vocabulary: how many words, and where the official list is
The HSK (Level 6) page gives the vocabulary figure as "5000 or more" Chinese words. The 2025 syllabus lists level 6 words with serial numbers 3601 to 5400. By our count from those numbers, that is 1,800 entries for level 6 and 5,400 in total up to and including level 6.
What the level page says
The vocabulary sentence on the HSK (Level 6) page says the test covers listening, reading and writing, and it names "a comprehensive vocabulary of 5000 or more Chinese words." The sentence does not say how this figure relates to the numbered list in the syllabus.
The numbered list in the 2025 syllabus
The syllabus cover gives its release as 2025-11 and its implementation as 2026-07. The vocabulary part of the syllabus is called HSK 词汇大纲 and starts on printed page 76. The level 6 part has serial numbers 3601 to 5400.
